About Richard Ashley

Dr. Richard Ashley was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona where he studied molecular biology. Following this, he went to medical school at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Ashley was fortunate enough to stay at the Mayo Clinic for his 6-year urology residency. During residency, he wrote numerous papers and led clinical trials. He developed an interest in pediatric urology and pursued a research fellowship at the University of Oklahoma. He then went on to a clinical pediatric urology fellowship at A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. Since he and his wife are both Arizona natives, they decided it was best to return to Tucson to raise their three children and stay close to family. Here in Tucson they have a strong connection to the community. They both feel it is an honor to provide medical care to our region of Southern Arizona. In Tucson, Dr. Ashley has been focused on all aspects of pediatric urology in addition to supporting patients in transition to adulthood. During his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, daily exercise, the outdoors, gardening, and keeping up with his three children and three dogs who are busy in sports, dance, and chasing lizards.
